CONFERENCE 2023
About The Conference
Improving productivity has never been more crucial for a food and drink sector which is facing a perfect storm of spiralling input inflation and the spectre of falling demand in a cost of living crisis.
Controlling costs and achieving more throughput with less resources in a financially and environmentally sustainable way is the theme of our conference Productivity: Shape Up To Scale Up.
Productivity: Shape Up To Scale Up was hosted at AMRC Cymru on Thursday 2nd February 2023.
We hosted 18 meetings at the conference between Welsh food and drink businesses and 11 potential investors and finance providers who we invited to Productivity: Shape Up To Scale Up.

We were delighted to have partnered with the AMRC Cymru for the location of our second conference.
AMRC Cymru is part of the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre and a member of the High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult, a consortium of leading manufacturing and process research centres backed by Innovate UK.
The state-of-the-art centre, which was fully funded with £20m from the Welsh Government and is managed by the University of Sheffield, focuses on advanced manufacturing sectors including aerospace, automotive, nuclear and food in the key research areas of future propulsion, sustainability and digital manufacturing. It is predicted the new facility could increase GVA to the Welsh economy by as much as £4 billion over the next 20 years.
Wow what an event, so many businesses are deeply engaged in considering their growth through increasing productivity, through new technology concepts.
Wales could lead in driving new technology deployment after the conference and drive productivity across the whole sector, all businesses need to get involved if they are serious about new growth.
